Fridge Door Family.

Can't think of a butterfly?

At our dinner table, everyone answers two questions. What was your butterfly, the best part of your day? What was your pickle, the hard part? Then we turn our butterfly into a gratitude, write it on a slip and drop it in the jar. When someone says "I don't know," these prompts help. Pick who's at the table and what kind of day it was, glance at them before dinner, then put the phone away.

Who's at the table?

Pick everyone who's eating tonight. Younger kids are about 3 to 7, older kids are 8 and up.

What kind of day was it?

Nothing you pick here is saved. It's gone when you close the page.

Gratitude doesn't wait for dinner

At dinner, our gratitudes go in the jar. During the day, the kids add them to a gratitude jar app on our fridge tablet whenever something good happens. I built it with no coding. Here's how.

Prompts with your people in them

These prompts work for any family. The Gratitude Jar Maker writes them for yours, like "A story about Grandma Jo" or "Why Coach Dan is a good coach." Each person gets a sheet of slips in their own color, so nobody's stuck for long.
